I caught a mermaid!
Discoveries journal, May 31 2026 entry: Specimen #385
I have captured what appears to be a cross between a frog and a pixie. A mermaid of some sort, perhaps.
Height: 162cm. Fingers: webbed. Teeth: surprisingly sharp.
As long as I’m around, the specimen looks scared and keeps a constant eye contact on me. Gets increasingly agitated as I come closer. But its behavior when alone reveals intelligence and a curious nature. It is amphibious; Gills are clearly visible in the neck, but the lack of nose led me to believe it is capable of cutaneous respiration through its frog half. It has yet to touch anything I gave it to eat, leaving its diet still unknown.
