Here’s my entry to Pabst Blue Ribbon’s art can contest! 🍻 I wasn’t chosen to be a finalist, but I’m still super proud of my illustration. The title? Pabst Blue Ribbit of course!
My original description:
Cheerfully plunging into its cold beer, here is my little frog, making a splash! It’s an energetic and dynamic frog in a cartoon style, catchy to your young democratic, with a retro-vintage twist thanks to the distressed/scratched away texture.
Floating above its head is a crown, representing how it feels drinking its Pabst beer – like a king! Or perhaps he’s a frog prince, who knows… On its calf is an anchor tattoo, a salute to Captain Pabst himself. 🫡
Does my entry stay true to my style? Absolutely! If I could, I would put a frog on everything I touch, everywhere I go. I’m crazy about frogs – they’re the goofiest, cuddliest, cutest, most chaotic little critters there is. With that I stayed in my signature playful style, incorporating cute and expressive linework to a design full of joy, the whole thing translated into the 4-colors color scheme I was given. A unique challenge!
My inspiration? My love for frogs, of course, the beautifully tumultuous, delicate movements of a beer, and witches’ cabinets full of potions – fantasy being another one of my passions.
