Into the World of Labyrinth: A Tribute to Jim Henson

I’m sure a lot of you remember my LEGO Labyrinth project. The goal is to post on LEGO’s platform and gather 10K votes from fans to get the set into production. Well, that’s the usual way to do it.

The same platform, LEGO IDEAS, is currently running a 80s contestThe grand prize: Getting the set produced! Even better, less than 10K votes will be needed… It’s like a back door… or going that way. 😉

Here’s how it works: Participants (including me) submitted builds. 5 of them will be chosen by LEGO to go into the next phase, voting. The entry with the most votes get produced!!! No review process, no “maybe”. If we manage to get the set into the top 5, and gather more votes than the others, it’s won!

How to get into the top 5: Comments, popularity! We need to show LEGO the project has enough interest to be worth producing. Leave a comment on the entry and** spread the word!** Act quick, the contest won’t be active for long.

Join my newsletter to be updated when the voting starts! Be prepared, we won’t have much time allowed to gather those votes!

My entry: The third iteration of the set you all loved. Smaller, perfect for display, packed with more details than ever! I invite you to go check out the entry on the platform for more info. 🙂

Thank you everyone!!!

Details highlights

The replicas of Sarah’s music box features a detailed armature in gold and a delicate doll in her ball gown inside. The dress is made with satin trans-clear bricks for a sparkly look! The doll is also mounted on a turntable so she can turn and dance.

This item is not only a treasured object of Sarah’s, it’s also a connection between our world and the undergrounds’ ball room.

Why the flying owl???

It’s to pay homage to the owl of the intro! This bird represents a big breakthrough in the history of cinema, as it was the first ever 100% computer-generated animal!

Why the hedges and obelisks on top?

The composition of my set aim to bring together the different elements, scenes and locations of the movie in a seamless fashion.

The Escher Room is part of Jareth’s castle, located beyond the Goblin City. The hedges constitute the labyrinth itself, which Sarah’s must go through to reach the castle and rescue her baby brother. What about the obelisks? Those are not only found inside the maze and at various other places in the undergrounds, they are also present in the park where Sarah reads her book in the opening scene making them a link between the 2 worlds.

Why is there rocks in the Bog of Eternal Stench? And on Ludo’s side of the base?

Because rocks friends!!!
