This painting is definitely far from my usual fun/colorful/happy style. But Diablo doesn’t lack character nevertheless!
While browsing for inspiration I fell on a parrot with a strong eyebrow raise, and as I was sketching him out his personality developed itself. Giving him a bulky gold chain felt like an appropriate choice to strengthen his character. When it came to color choice I wanted to stay in a dramatic ambiance, while keeping it fairly simple so that everything pops well, and that it could fit in a wider decor style. It’s a very bold piece, that is sure to make a statement.
