Warm, soft sweater, the beautiful greens of nature all around, and a friend to spend the day with: A perfect cozy day in perspective! Incorporating the textures and patterns of abstract art with a playful illustration, this painting is well balanced to create a maximum of interest. I always found that black outlines give personality – here I opted for partial linework to really blend the styles together.
The buckles of the straps are finished with a tiny bit of silver paint, along with the eyes, and the sides are a dark olive green to match the muted, comfortable palette used in this piece. I invite you to my Instagram to see footage of the butterfly getting its colors!
