Perhaps she is lost in the street of a big city, building lights glowing in the night behind her… Perhaps she is exploring a whimsical forest, fireflies flying around, guided by her enchanted necklace… Perhaps she’s lost without an identity, memories from the past trying to pop back…
For me this painting evokes a sense of loneliness and grief, but also of wonder and contemplation – I see lights behind her (or is it candles?), perhaps she’s in awe of their beauty. I don’t really know what it is about, but I love its character.
Done in acrylic on a black canvas, with a bit of gold leaves for the pendant.
